Desktop wallpaper created from the period painting by Henry Pooley, showing a scene depicting what would eventually be Ottawa, the capital of Canada — although the perspective that we are looking at it is from the Hull, Québec side of the Ottawa River, approximately from where the Museum of Civilization now stands. In this painting you can see what is now Nepean Point (on the left), Major’s Hill Park and the entrance of the Rideau River into the Ottawa River (middle), and what would become Parliament Hill (right).
