A "film noir"-style portrait of my Grandpa, done mainly for my family, near and far, but which I'm happy enough to present here as well. :)

Living the dream... and dreaming the life! Sometimes it's not the dream that's shattered, though — occasionally it can be the nightmare, bringing about the renewal of life, and the renewal of the dream.
(And if that sounds mysterious, well, you don't know the half of it!) ;-)
With links to extra photos of where he lived in the Rocky mountains of British Columbia, plus background wallpaper (from the original photo), as well as an original song written, played and sung by Kevin (in RealAudio format)!

The Warrior Chieftain of Prestonehenge
and his entourage
A portrait of artist and award-winning type designer, Roy Preston.

A portrait of poet Richard Robertson.

A portrait of Her Royal Lionesse, Queen Corlett Saint Rose Gramm Zamora.

A companion piece to Leæna Zamora.

I'm still puzzled about this one.

No, silly, I'm still here. ;)

Like the pic of Kevin McCann (above), this was another little effort at colourizing a black & white photograph. I've always loved Grace Kelly, ever since I saw her when I was a kid in Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window. To each his or her own, as they say, but to me she's the epitome of feminine beauty; indeed, not just because of her physical presence, but with her poise — and her... um... well, her grace! — I think she's probably the most beautiful woman of the 20th century.
You go, girl! ;)

A portrait of Kamal, the lovely woman who, along with her husband Danny, runs the Mrs. B's Variety store in Brockville, Ontario, Canada. I never did get their last name! But I do thank them very much, naturally, for the use of their wedding photos in the making of this piece.

A portrait of my west-coast goth angel, Dawn Wilson, featuring an original verse by Richard Robertson (see the piece Saint Richard, above). This is basically just a fun piece, inspired by some of the words in the poem, but the way it turned out, I suppose an alternate title might have been "Dawn of the Dead"! Hee hee... no offense intended in any way to my pal Dawnie, of course! ;)

A "colour photograph"(!) of Henry David Thoreau at Cape Cod in 1857 (much more additional info can be found on the preview page — click the thumbnail or link above!).

Tim in space (orbiting the Earth)! This photo is both a tribute to Dr. Leary and his devotion to the quest for personal, inner exploration, and to his lively, "animated" personality, as well as being a virtual satire, an intentional reflection of ourselves, that is, of how those who might call themselves his "disciples" have opted to elevate him to the status of "guru". One might argue justifiably both for or against this latter perspective, but in any case if one views this piece with the intended humour and nothing more, then it is indeed simply an intentionally amusing portait of Timothy Leary — if you see anything else (spiritual or otherwise) in it, though, whether positive or negative, then it is actually a portrait of you. ;)
Note: As a nod to the spirit of the Sixties, there's a very subtle peace sign in this piece — can you see it? |
