Feel free to browse the page/artwork below, however, this page will no longer be updated. Instead, please visit the new tribute site for Leni Riefenstahl (also designed by Psymon) at... Leni's Rising Star...where you will find all of the wallpapers below — and more! Leni Riefenstahl lived what might well have been one of the most fascinating and controversial lives of any artist of the 20th century. She began her career as an accomplished impressionist dancer, giving solo performances both within her native Germany as well as beyond its borders; then as both actress and director she gained renown all over the world, eventually creating masterpieces the influence of which still bring artistic revelation and inspiration to this day, with work included in not only the all-time top 100 film lists of virtually any critic's, but even within their top ten; as a photographer she brought us beautiful images and awareness of the wonders of traditional African peoples; and as the oldest scuba diver in the world, she then brought us with her to experience the beauty of the deep. In all these stages in her life she excelled in a truly unique and incomparable way, and in each area left an indelible mark upon this world, continuing to lead a productive life until she passed away in 2003, at the age of 101. ![]() Leni Riefenstahl at the camera during Please Note: Clicking the links below will open each piece in a new window, and these pop-up windows are resizable & maximizable for your convenience and viewing pleasure. Desktop wallpaper made from a vintage postcard featuring a lovely photo of Leni, again during her early dancing career.

This pic is from a wonderful black & white shot used in a publicity still/lobby card from Leni's 1933 film SOS Eisberg ("SOS Iceberg"), which I colourized specifically for use as desktop wallpaper. If you've ever had a chance to see the film, you'll know that this shot is just a glimpse of the action in the film that's to marvel over! Seriously — eat your heart out, Indiana Jones! ;)

"Beauty in the Lenian Clouds."
This piece was, in essence, actually a stepping stone in the process of making the Kunst piece, above. Ironically — but not at all disappointingly — some people prefer this version, even though it's much less colourful and certainly far simpler. That's okay with me, though, because I rather like them both, too — it just depends on my mood! I suppose that the Wolken piece might be considered to be an enhancement of what I believe to be the feeling that Leni wished to bring forth in the original photo as it appeared in her 1938 book Schönheit im Olympischen Kampf, however it is with the Kunst piece that I tried to evoke a bit more of the mysterious, metaphysical feeling that all of Leni's artistry brings forth in me.
