Below are a few pieces from my beginnings in the world of digital art — and it shows in some cases, so please don't go running away after having only seen these. ;) Please Note: Clicking the links below will open each piece in a new window, and these pop-up windows are resizable & maximizable for your convenience and viewing pleasure.
Psymon GIF AnimationDigitally-designed 3D GIF animation of the Psymon logo, presented as it used to be with the original home page background/format for Psymon from years ago!
3D "Psymon" LogosA couple of larger (static) renditions of the Psymon logo in 3D, set in a background of...?
Thoreau In JailJust a bit o' fun with ol' Henry, set in a background of Henries (look closely!).
CrossworldI'm still puzzling over this one. ;)
Animated Steve MorseEgads, I could've done such a nicer job on this! But hey, it was one of the very first animations I'd ever done (and with cheap graphics software) and it was fun to do at the time, back when GIF animations first came about.
Victoria's TearsThis was my very first sincere attempt at a piece of "digital art", at least as a piece that was really meant to stand on it's own as "art". Vicki was a girlfriend that I had many years ago who suffered and struggled with the effects of Multiple Sclerosis. I've had the occasional comment from people who have told me that the piece wasn't very "complimentary", but that's not what it was meant to be, nor the opposite. It's about understanding and empathy, the ocean of tears that she was hopelessly sinking into which still could not prevent her from burning up inside, and the Light she moved toward from within, if only in surrender, as her outer world was stripped away from her, bit by bit. And it's about the Demon that was visiting this upon her — unseen, unspeakable, unnameable, ferociously unmerciful and unconquerable through any feat or magic. And yet her cleansing tears, and the Light, are her redemption.
And for those cold winter days,
Both fireplaces designed for the web with animation and sound (and centered in a black background for your viewing pleasure, with the credits off-screen down below). |
